I am a qualified and experienced practitioner in Person Centred Counselling; I have considerable experience working with relationship issues and as a Bereavement Counsellor in Leicester and Leicestershire with my Narborough practice being just 2 miles and five minutes away from Fosse Park, I offer both long and short-term counselling to individuals. I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work in accordance with their code of ethics. I have a BA (Hons) in Counselling and CBT training (British Psychological Society accredited). You can come directly to me and I also take referrals from Employee Assistance Programmes.
Supervision for other practitioners
I have experience as a clinical supervisor for a counselling agency in central Leicester and in group supervision through my lecturing role. I hold a Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy Supervision and was trained by Professor Sue Wheeler fellow of the BACP and Professor Delia Cushway, both are highly qualified and renowned in the field of counselling and psychotherapy. Sue is well known for her research and published work on clinical supervision; the knowledge gained from this training ensures I work to a high level of competence and professionalism.
Experienced Practitioners
I aim to establish a trusting relationship and offer a space where your thoughts and feelings can be confidently shared so you feel comfortable and at ease within our sessions. I will support you so you feel safe to expose any vulnerability without feeling threatened or judged; I feel it is an essential element within supervision to establish an equal power base so you do not feel inhibited and can be honest in your responses.
Trainee Counsellors
For those in training I will help you to become more tuned into your thoughts and feelings and encourage you to explore alternative ways of viewing situations, where you learn to develop a ‘super’ vision and become more open to alternative views. I aim to facilitate your ability to develop as a reflective practitioner and build on your internal supervisor learning to listen to your internal voice, looking at what is happening while it is happening. Alongside those skills you will already have acquired I will be working with you to look at new perspectives and to gain new awareness and insight.
I charge a very competitive £50 an hour for supervision or £75 for the BACP minimum monthly requirement of 1.5 hours for an ongoing contract.
